Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)

Program Overview:

 

Our Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) program is designed to prepare students with the essential knowledge, hands-on skills, and professional training required to provide safe and compassionate care in a home care setting. This program follows New Jersey state requirements and combines online learning with required in-person skills training.

 

Program Format:

  • Online theory instruction

  • In-person skills labs held on scheduled days

  • Sections are completed in phases to allow flexibility

  • Mandatory clinical/skills competency evaluation

Program Length: Approximately 3–4 weeks (varies by schedule)

 

Eligibility Requirements:

​

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Valid government-issued ID

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

  • Criminal background check (as required by NJ regulations)

 

Certificate Awarded:

​

  • Certificate of Completion for CHHA training

  • Eligible to work for licensed home care agencies upon completion

CHHA Reinstatement

 

Program Price: $225.00

 

Program Overview:

 

The CHHA Reinstatement Program is for individuals whose CHHA certification has expired and need to regain eligibility to work as a Home Health Aide in New Jersey. This refresher course reviews core competencies and includes required skills validation.

 

Program Format:

  • Shortened completion timeline

  • Proof of prior CHHA certification

CNA to CHHA Bridge

This bridge program is designed for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) who wish to obtain their CHHA credentials. The program focuses on New Jersey–specific home care regulations and skills unique to the home care setting.
